A tank would have less resistance then a dry van, that I do know. How much? Well if I had a multi-million dollar wind tunnel I'd tell you!

What I do know is that for an aero truck pulling a dry van, one third of the aero resistance is due to the square ass end of the van.

i hover around 5.0 running 70mph, with a 475 cat, 13-speed, 379 pete, and carry upwards of 35K thru all 48 states

7.9 would be gravy

shucks, 5.9 would be nice

Raafi...drop it to 62 mph for a month and see what your avg mpg is. The beauty is that you can always speed back up if you don't like running that slow. But check it out for a month...I'd be interested to see what your mileage improves to.

Hey Raafi...

Take it as a challange for 1 month...yep just one measly month and then you can go back to that 70 mph you so love.

In fact make a bet to yourself that you can do it and the prize is to take the savings from the one month and buy some toy with it.

Now THAT puts it in a different light eh? Come on ....do it , I dare ya

I saw a tractor with a van. Only the van had on the tabs along the back edge by the door. I want to know which gives better mpg. Putting them on the van or the truck extenders, if someone only put them on one.

I've seen wind tunnel testing concluding they did very little.

But many do claim being able to see better behind you in a rainstorm.

And less rocking in the wind, when trucks pass you, etc..
