I just finished loading a Maverick driver that had a battery powered AC unit on top of his sleeper. He said that Maverick and Walmart were installing those because EPA is trying to stop drivers from using their APU's.
Has anyone heard of this?

Walmart has APU's and Espar bunk heaters on most trucks.

I think I also read some where that if truck is 2006 or older you with not be effected by the new changes to the CARB law.
But a battery powered unit does sound interesting! From what I understand they charge while the truck is running and heat and cool for up to 8 or 10 hours! www.nitesystem.com

He knows all about A/C and batteries. Read his thread. He has some info on it somewhere.
