Yeah Gman, I have a directory....but it doesn't tell me how clean they are or how good the food is.

Since you mentioned Virginia, I like the independent at exit 195 on I-81 (Lee Hi Truck Stop). The food is pretty good and it has always been clean. Another is White's Truck Stop on I-81. I believe they are at exit 205 (Raphine). They also have a full service restaurant and has always been clean when I stop.

Pepe, there are more and more malls that don't want big trucks to park, at least over night. Some don't even want you to drive on the lot. If you run in New England and the Northeast you will find that they really don't like trucks most anywhere you go.

I was going to say something to that effect also for my home town. One will have to Police there in a second, but if you want to park your car in the fire lane, no problem.

There have been some malls who will allow you to park without saying anything. I think one problem is that there are so many drivers who leave trash and worst after they leave. Another thing is that these trucks can damage parking lots. The smaller towns seem to be more truck friendly than larger cities. Some Walmarts will allow you to park as long as you are far enough away that you don't impede traffic for their customers. They don't seem to count truck drivers as customers. :?

Yeah its so funny....I was going to mention Walmarts, I am writing right now from the walmart in Tyler Texas. There are 5 other riggs in here now. Heard a lot they wont even let you drive on anymore, that was big news to me when I got back to the states, but I quess you guys are use to that?
Hmmm Steve would get a kick out of the fact I hung out a whole weekend one time in a rig, in that huge mall in Portland Maine, when laid over one weekend by USX.
Are they still cool about the walmart on I-81 way up by the Va/Maryland border....forget the town or exit, but always lots of trucks in there.

Steve,

Have you been to Bon Bon Mobil on DW Highway?
Mobile Gas/Bon Bon Merrimack, NH off exit 10(trucks prohibited from using exit from 9pm to 5 am which is the dumbest thing, it's a commercial area for crying out loud) or exit 11 from the Everett TPK (ROUTE 3) is nice for what it is. Really small.. not much parking. They used to have a mini-deli that served breakfast and lunch type food. But the people who ran it let it go. Now the counter and grill just sit there. So not much as to hot food, except what they have for microwave stuff and the 9 hour old hot dogs. Have a couple showers, and a small tv room.

The T/A In Greenland, NH is exit 3 headed north, and 3B headed south. No service bays or parts, but store/resturant/showers/fuel etc.

There is a truck stop of exit 1 or 2 right over the border 0n 95 in ME. Not a lot of parking, but showers/restaurant/store/fuel etc.

Route 93 NH exit 12 rt 3A south. Irving station. Can't remember if they have showers, but have a subway/fuel. Decent parking, but still not big.

Route 93 NH exit 12 rt 3A Mom and Pop truck stop... can't remember the name of it, but down the road from a Peterbilt dealer, and Berube's. Berubes is a chrome shop/cb shop/everything truck related shop. They cater more to Pete's, Kenworths. But have or can order parts for other makes models.

Route 101 NH exit 2. Small diesel/gas station. Parking for 5 trucks. Says no overnight parking (yea... right) Pizza sub shop in store(awesome pizza  ) fuel. No showers.

Route 89 NH (can't remember town) think it's exit 16 or so. Mobil station with fuel, store. No showers, limited number of spaces for truck parking.

I remember more.... but can't give more details for them.. like I remember one some where on route 4 towards Jay, ME. Like a Sunoco station with 5-10 truck parking. No showers, can't remember if they have fuel. Another great slice of pizza though

Will try and think the other I know of.

There used to be one on I395 (x87?) in CT called "Hanna B's" and it is still listed in most truck stop directories. The fuel and store are still there but they sold the parking lot  which is now a big rice rocket dealership. The renovated Branford T/A on I95 in CT looks decent from the road but I haven't stopped there since it was finished. There are two other MA stops I can think of that weren't mentioned. The Whately diner has a fair amount of parking just off I91, x24 I think, 116 north (or west?) a short distance. One I've only driven by is I190x7 rt117 north (or west ?) a short distance. I was gonna stop for food at the one on rt1 north of 495 in foxboro after leaving Foxboro Terminals a couple miles north of there but the lot has a ticket machine and no indication as to any free time or minimum purchase requirement or price to park - I wasn't gonna go in and find out I had to pay big $$$ to get my truck out! You have to walk across rt1 and a bit down the road to get to the facilities from the lot too. Then I tried to find the one on rt1 south of there I've never stopped at but I musta zoned and missed it and continued on down I295 to my next load.
