truck stops in the notheast???
Anybody care to share the name and location of good truck stops in the Northeast (PA, NY, MD, CT, MA, OH, DE, VA)? I've got all the J's, T/A's and Pilots.......thinking more about the others.

You call these three GOOD truckstops? They are usually the worst. The Petro in Elkton,Md and the Vince Lombardi service plaza is what I can think of for now.

I can tell you right now there is absolutely CRAP in Mass and NH. The ones that are there SUCK. Your better off parking at Walmart or on a dirt road.

When I did drive, I knew of only 3 in Ma. None in NH, and one or 2 in Me. Of those they all were poor truckstops.
In Ma, off of 495 south end of it HYW 1 you have 2. One go north about 1 mile, and the other go south about 2 to 3 miles. 3rd one, I can not tell you how to get there right off. I had to meet a Driver there once for a swap out. I always tried to make it back to the CT off of I84 to the TA. At that time it was one of the better TA T/S. |
Has anyone been up to the T/A in Branford, CT after they renovated? Good? Bad? So so?

The one in Bangor was not too bad. I havent' been to the northeast for almost 4 years now. I do remember there was one T/A in greenland,NH exit 5,I think. |
There isn't much in the way of truck stops in New England. You may want to get a copy of the Truck Stop Directory. It lists truck stops all over the country with amenities. I believe they cost about $20 or $30.

Thanks for the replies. I'm putting all the good ones into Streets and Trips.
Yeah Gman, I have a directory....but it doesn't tell me how clean they are or how good the food is. |
In RI exit 5 on I-95 has a decent restaurant and is clean. Parking for a fee if you don't buy a certain amount of fuel.
