That's a lot of "if" and "but"! But there is always something...
Besides, "after fuel", is not nearly a net income in any case scenario.

My truck is paid off, company trailer and ins, last week I've made about $3800(after fuel), still considering only about half of it "net"!

Half of what i mentioned i can make localy hauling heavy tankers 6 days per week with being home every night or hauling a concrete mixer here in Charlotte...+ my average with a company truck was about 1300 to me without any other expenses. If i made only half of 3000 with my own truck i wouldnt be in it as a O/Op at all, doesnt make any sence..

I run a 5 axle dump locally and avg. $3-4k a week gross. Some days I work hourly @ $96hr some days by the ton @ $7.00 per ton x 23 tons per load, and other days I haul by the load usually $150 per load. I have had $1,000+ days and some times not worked for a week straight. For me its a mixed bag, best year $150k gross $90 net worst year to date $77k gross and the net made me sick, wife said to never speak of that year again. I love the hussle, the struggle, the adventure. Every penny I have I earned,I do it because I love it and because I love it I work at it so the $ end of it just falls into place. I will say that you need to stick it out and roll with the punches, you wont bust out making huge money right away, the more you learn about trucking the better you get at making more money and making your money go further for you.

Well...I netted $19,845 in 2006. Truck is a single screw FLD112 pulling a 45' flatbed, hauling less than 30,000#.s The truck worked 6 month's and 1 week (a point of contention for me), and my brother the driver grossed $2,000 more in wages than I did working a full time job, driving local. :x :x

I paid out over $5,000 in road taxes and insurances(blue cross for the bro included), paid $32,480 for fuel, $15,780 in repairs, $3500 in oil changes, tires (2 steer), and washes, and have to write a check to Uncle Sam for $4,000, just for the pleasure of it.
