I wanted it for 18,000 (my first bid) but another dealer bid 18,500 so I had to go 19k and bidding is kinda a wierd experience (to easy to get caught up in the bidding and not think clearly).

So did you get a temporary short term policy or are you using the same bobtail policy that you will use when you start hauling? I hear that it's difficult to buy bobtail unless you have a copy of the lease?
Steve, how did you get your tractor home? (insurance wise)

Apply for your MC number quick because that takes the longest to get. There is a waiting period. I don't remember how long but it's like 30 days or something.
Once you apply you can go on the web site and keep checking to see if your authority has been approved but not necessary. The second it's approved your phone will ring off the hook from people trying to sell you extra services.

Thanks, yes you understood correctly. I've read that many insurance companies won't issue bobtail insurance without seeing a copy of the lease agreement, although I'm not sure why. Kind of hard to provide before you decide with whom to lease...
