I just looked on the map where Iron River Mich is
Why are you there?
Are you being held hostage?
Should we come up there and rescue you?

Just like the "success" stories you see on late night TV who bought the $300 "How to become an instant millionaire flipping houses" information packet.

Heck you could find more people who succeeded by taking their lifes savings and going gambling in Vegas that who made it at L/P and at least they get free drinks and a good buffet out of the deal

Just wanted to get his straight...IM NOT CONSIDERING A LEASE PURCHASE, i have my own truck i think i got caught up the whole moment of defending a l/p. But believe me i do value you guy's opinion being that ive only been driving 7 years.. and u guys have more experience than i do i dont understand why prime/cr england/swift drivers even do those types of leases?? i was trying to defend the little companies leases on how they were cheaper...but those after talking to a swift driver and reading about cr england and prime leases i cant defend??? i guess companies enjoy turning a variable expense into a fixed one!!!

Default L/P...Yah, right....

I am new to the industry, second career, and I looked at CREngland and TransAm lease programs. CREngland was such a joke that I left the orientation and flew myself home. It is bad when the company has to have a 'rumor control' class. TransAm actually looked pretty good on paper, the owner Johnny seemed to be a good guy, but the lady in charge of L/Ps will ruin lives. I am waiting to be an O/O until I can buy my own truck and run for no less than $1.50/mile +FSC. Unfortunately, I may be waiting for awhile. Good luck to all.

You are wise to wait and do it the right way.

My Question is.....Where are they? How come we don't see anyone here on these boards that are pro-L/P?

Too Much Negative feedback on l/p....time to hear some positive....

Default another rookie!!

i don't know if you've ever been in a job that you hate going thru the door, but i'm there! (not trucking), i bought a 95 T600 2 years ago and (don't laugh) leased to a container company and have pulled part time for 2 years. i love the work but i'm still learning the business aspect. i've saved enough money over the years to buy a truck outright in the 80k range. that would take every penny i've got. i talked to my bank and they would agree to a loan of 20k loan for 4 or 5 years at 9% for operating expense.i've talked to a local o/o that uses the internet brokers to get them loads and he's staying satified and afloat! please convince me that i'm not going down the wrong road! my wife of 29 years is very agreeable to me changing carreers for my sanity. again i love the work and environment and i don't think i'd like to be a company driver..........please help. runnin' scared.

Keep the T6, save the 80,000 for maitenance (and maybe a trailer) and go trucking. No need to buy a truck when you've already got one of the best made in the last 20 years.
