How do you clean airfilters?

Most are throw away's, do you have a reusable type? I've used K&N and those you just wash out with soapy water, blow dry and then reoil.

Cost of a new engine? About the same as another truck.
Cost of a NEW air filter? About the same as your lunch (or dinner.) I'm done with this one. lol.
