Help: CDL Training paid by state, but..
I've been looking to getting into driving, either CDL-A or CDL-B. I have my A permit and 15 hours of training, but recently lost my job (just before Christmas) and therefor lost my income. The state will pay up to $5k for training with a driving school, and they gave me a big packet to work on over the course of 1 1/2 weeks. One thing they want me to do is interview 3 drivers about pros, cons, etc, about driving trucks. They gave me one week, and today I'm heading out to cold-ask drivers at truck stops. If anybody in here can help it would be appreciated. They also want to know what company the driver works for, the address, and the phone # of the company. Thanks in advance!
Why did you choose this field?
How long have you worked in this field?
What are some pros and cons of the field?
Is there anything you would say is a real challenge?
What is the hardest thing to learn about this job?
What salary can be expected in the field, as well as starting?
Is direct experience necessary for hire? If so how many years?
What kind of advancement opportunities are there?
What advice could you give to somebody entering the field?
