I had a couple of misdemeanor drug convictions and driving suspended in my past. I have stayed out of trouble and kept a clean driving record for the last 15 years, I have been driving with a class B for two years now, are there companies that will hire me to drive class A?

Yeah, if you get your 'A', do it on your own that way you don't owe some POS training company a year or more of your life. But you really should talk to a few co. recruiters and get the word from them.

Roadrunner look for companies that pay for refreshers or pay for your own. I think you can find them for a grand or two. I believe it's mostly paperwork stuff. I think there are actually a few decent companies who do it. There are a lot of crappy companies who do it.
Caynnor i had a friend who did what you want. The company he went to was garbage and he wasnt cut out for trucking. (class a and b are VERY different)... he thought he would tell the company how it should do things. Didnt work out well. Get your class a and apply around. But im betting in the end you have to go to a newbie company for a while. To be fair you really do need training in a class a truck.. it is NOT the same as class b. |
