Default question about application

I have a speeding 15 mph or more violation on PSP report but it does not show up on my MVR or DAC because it was dismissed in court. Some recruiters tell me to put it on application and others say not to. Some say it is "no problem" since it isnt on MVR or DAC and some say it could be a problem getting me hired. Im wanting to know what some of you'll think about whether I should put it on every application or leave it off since it wasnt a conviction?

Dont bother posting to talk bs about how I got the ticket because it was clearly a stupid mistake on my part. I got in the left lane in "the gorge" (NC highway patrol are pathetic) and accelerated to 65 when the truck speed limit was 50 so I got an improper lane and the 15 mph or over but eventhough the improper lane is on MVR and DAC, nobody is giving me any hell with it

Don't know HOW you got the 15 mph violation dismissed... but, if it's not on your MVR or DAC.... then NEVER volunteer that info! They only ask for "convictions." A "lane violation" is not such a big deal. I don't care HOW they word the question on the application... if you were not convicted of it.... it has no bearing on FMCSA rules about your eligibility. NEVER... volunteer info they won't see on your MVR.

I go "rogue" in "the gorge" all the time! Not a good idea... but, I can't stand to be behind a train of trucks doing 45 through there!

Just be more carefull in the future.

Im just worried not to put it on the application because most of them say "list any moving VIOLATIONS" and on the PSP it says "Violation" but I didnt get convicted of it. Im mainly concerned with the company that I worked for and got the violation with declined me to go back to work with them ONCE they got the PSP report and saw that. They said I was approved Wednesday night as long as the PSP report comes back satisfactory and then Thursday morning I get a call saying that they cant approve me for a position their because of it showing up on psp. Ugh, y did I have to screw myself in the 1st place by getting the ticket and quitting a job.

If the ticket was dismissed then it doesn't exist. If it appears on your psp, I would contest it. There is a process where you are supposed to get incorrect information off of your psp. I also don't know how you got a 15 mph ticket dismissed. You may need to get a letter from the judge or clerk about the dismissal. You can then use that to get it removed from your psp.

I did dispute it and sent a letter from the attorney saying that it was dismissed to the fax number provided. NC highway patrol responded saying since I wasnt found "not guilty" it will stay on psp. I wasnt found guilty or not guilty though because it was dismissed so I guess it is just another loophole to screw someone for a huge mistake

I believe he is saying he was NOT found "not guilty" because it was dismissed... never adjudicated. What is a psp?

Psp is the pre-employment screening program that a lot of companies use. The one I just got hired by told me about a traffic ticket I had in 1988. This was way before the computer age we live in now.
