"The truck had a height of 13 feet 4 inches before the crash."

Back when I was pulling houses, the stacks were cut down to 11 feet, and an empty flatbed would have made it through fine. But most trucks won't even fit through without a trailer.
And, at 80 mph, the sides have a way of getting "WELL ROUNDED", but the back door frame doesn't stay with the trailer anymore. Wonder if Anderson saw any humor in that?

And never trust the posted sign if it is close, they will re surface the road but forget to change the sign. I had a load at 14-9 luckely my pole car had set her pole 6 inches higher. When she hit we stopped and measured the bridge, it was three inches lower than posted. By lowering my bags and trailer so it just scraped the road we got under. I was on route by my permit so the permit offices are not up to date either.

That is the second picture I've seen in about 3 weeks of a burgundy International stuck under a bridge.:angryblue: Suppose I oughta paint mine pink or gray to avoid confusion with people that have poor math skills. The only saving grace is these were both 9400 type nose tractors.
Drivers that realize 13 feet is taller than 11 drive flat hoods!:smokin:

I lived in chi-town for 25 years, & they DO pave over & over the gound under the overpass without changing the signs. some are a ft. lower tham posted. one time in rouge steel ford co. my dispatcher asked me to measure my max height. I forget what it was but the height limit in the plant, wich was a city in a city was 12 ft. everything cleared easly except my c.b. ant.
Now the highest point on my truck is 9' 11".... gotta love a flat-topper

You have no idea how many times I thought about that back when I had my condo. Don't know how many times I cringed even though I was following another truck just as high as I was. Never hit any of the overpasses, but the top of the sleeper would have been damaged just before the trailer. I did get to see a few other trucks that weren't as lucky, though. Wonder how much it cost for all that duct tape wrapped around the top.
