Now that's a hard deal to pass up; (will drive far and long) with 10 hours experience, and undoubtly well grounded in d.o.t. rules and reg,s. Log book, no problem; just fill in the blanks and keep it between the lines. Also, he knows to keep his starting options open--- ( known as a 26 year old white male) well that just wraps it up. I have a truck in albuquerque, just go to the fuel desk at the "J" and p/u the keys. One last thing, please; service the truck and I'll see you in salinas, the load has 6 pic's and delivers on monday in bean town. Oh yea, the fuel card is under the seat.

I know when I got my CDL permit in Texas they wanted to know which school I was with and the instructor had to produce documentation before I was allowed to road test.

I will testify to that fact, I did not go to school either and was actually driving without the correct license. I started with a circus(the tarzan zerbini circus) out of webb city missouri. The owner asked me if I could drive a truck and took me to a beautiful 77 shaker; flat top. He had me drive in a big circle on his property and he told me -this is your truck. The rest is history and I have definitely enjoyed the ride.

Gulfinc do yourself and me and my family a favor go get some experience first before you become another accident statistic and hurt an innocent party on the public highway. Sounds like you are not really interested in being a truckdriver just someone driving a truck because it pays better than McDonalds and it was easier to get into than going to college and getting a degree. If you had looked into a career in driving you would have found out that no responsible party will hire anyone with your experience. Has anyone told you you can go to jail for murder just because you make a mistake and hurt or kill someone because you let the truck get away from you on a downgrade? Do yourself a favor and go to Swift or a company where you will learn the right way to drive!

I agree with everyone else no one will hire you with 10 hrs of exp. Getting your CDL is the easy part, learning to drive a big truck is the hard part. I thought the same thing as you but I went to Burlington Motor Carriers school.. I could drive why do I need a trainer? Then I hit my first mountain and I was put back into reality. You should look into schools there is alot more to truck driving then driving.. logs, regs, time management etc. Most docks you will hit are less then ideal.... like a blindside into a middle dock with a $100,000 truck on each side. Damm just writing this makes me feel sorry for my trainer.... sorry Scott

Not real funny when you think about it? Who else but a crooked company like Swift would hire this guy without sending him through school?
