Sounds to me that you did exactly the right thing. Sometimes trucking is like that. Do the right thing and get screwed. I've had similar things happen to me too many times to count. Had to pick up a container in Long Beach once. Pulled in with a flatbed to put it on and when they lowered the container onto it the trailer began to bow. I stopped him right there and told him to take it off, I wasnt moving it. Got lots of crap and sat for a day and a half till I got another load but I did the right thing. Let some other fool move that stuff.

Hey Kevin if you like you can forward you're overweight fines to me, they will go right into the IDGAS File.
I will be the first to say I have no idea what it is like out there on the road and will never ever find out as from day 1 (November 04) I was strictly local, it has never even crossed my mind to drive otr. I have a family and a nice house that I like to cozy up in every night. You guys who pull otr have my respect as I realize it is a very difficult job, the little BS stories that I hear you guys deal with on a daily basis would send me over the edge. Yet I can pull fuel in a populated tourist city and stay as calm as a button as I know at the end of my shift I will be able to go home and see my family, If I had a bad day driving otr and then was stuck in a truck stop by myself I would go nuts (could'nt do it). So thank you for doing it for us, but I still have to have fun at you're expense every now and then.. Timberwolf
