Have you applied EVERYWHERE? There must be some company, somewhere that needs drivers that would hire you. You couldnt have been turned down by everybody. Did you try Bob's Trucking in Oil Trough, Arkansas?

You're right, i dont know anything about you, but what we DO know, is you've had an accident every other month. Skip a month, accident, skip a month, accident. Tell me, how many accidents are 'acceptable' in a year?? 3-4.......6? 7 !!!???

What gets me, are drivers starting out not knowing anything (like i did) then blame accidents or being fired because of poor performance on a bad mentor. I've said this before, and ill say it again (cause i have experience in the matter)....if you're not getting the training you feel you NEED, then its YOUR duty to ask for a new one. If you dont, then its simply your fault. Because who are they going to pin your not knowing how to do your job up to company standards......sure isnt me, and it sure as hell isnt the trainer, and it isnt the janitor doing a half azz job sweeping the floors.

instead of saying 'the accidents i've had are minor, and anybody who wants to know about them can ask and ill tell....'....just come out and say what they were. My one lame "accident" i had was described very well by just a couple of statements from a couple of people. One guy told me that i was knocked for a preventable because the company pays you to make good and correct choices. another guy told me that even though it was a tiny little scrape of chrome off a grille, it would have been a different story had another driver scraped the same amount of paint off my personal car.

Like I tell anyone who wants to drive a truck, get into one accident and everyone starts treating you like a leper real quick.
And if you were already sort of a loner to begin with(myself), then you're going to be in for a world of hurt.

I'm still reeling from my accident from two years ago and the only way I've come to grips is to realize that time is the one thing I've got.
So, instead of trying to resume school(6th attempt at college since '01) for a career that I don't care for, I'll settle for my old job, pickup a quick skill(welding cert) and lay low until enough time has passed to where I could get out of this place once more.

Thats exactly what happens i have a backing incident on my record :banghead: wasn't fired from the company for it, but six months after the incident had to come off the road and now have to settle with working local as a fill in driver runing 150 miles out and back 2-3 times a week until something better comes along because, "I'm a leper", and companies think i will continue to back into things.
luckily i found a job as a yard jockey/hostiler so i get to practice backing for 8 hours a day 5 days a week hopefully by the turn of the year frieght picks up and drivers are in demand again and i will get another shot at otr driving :thumbsup:

Yeah, from Jun '08 to January of this year I managed to get some post-accident time with a mom/pop, container outfit in Montebello.
My only good experience from that job was temporarily experiencing the underground bicycle culture of downtown LA during my off-times.
Rest of the job was utter bologna due to the drama of the perpetually clogged, area freeways and the antics of the foreign drivers in the port and rail areas.

After being let-go due to typical slowdowns and the owner of the truck not being able to pay registration, I was relieved.
Local= DO NOT WANT.

a swift driver did this earlier today at the craptastic flying j in aurora, co:



i'm never parking in there again. my truck almost got hit several times. fortunately i was able to get out of my spot.

Notice the guy wasn't in his spot all the way. I hate that place when i comes to parking in the center row. If it is tight getting out of your spot, its hell getting into it!
