I never drove stick before learning to drive truck- not a problem at all.

I tried to drive a friend's manual car and double clutched- that didn't work so well.

About 3 years after I started trucking, we got into cars. I learned to drive stick up ramps into the trailer! In fact pretty much right after we bought our first truck and had gotten into cars, my husband hurt his shoulder and had to have surgery so I went otr w/o him. That first load of Mitsubishi's was scary stuff (kid's play now- but it was scary back then)- several were stick shifts...

That really has nothing to do with the truck clutch- but I like the story

Most folks I know don't even use the clutch except to start and stop. If you time it just right, the stick will slip right into gear- but you probably won't get the hang of that for years. Can't do that with a car...

That's about how it was for me when I first learned. How can that little switch control so much? Lol!
