Through researching a few boards, and ripoffreport.com as well as other places, these seem to be the choices for companies that hire drivers with NO EXPERIENCE or recent driving school grads.
They have ALL gotten a "bad rap" on this, and other trucking boards I've read. They're listed in no particular order - but; Which one would you consider the LEAST EVIL of these, for the purpose of recommending to a newb, which company to try and get a gig with? If I missed one (a company that hires newbs), please let me know... Rick

Good luck, polls don't usually tend to get enough votes on this board to reflect an accurate consensus.

The answers are there, But I do not know where. Optimistic and hopeful dreams, Are all I have so it seems. The future I do not know, So all I can do is take it slow. But I do know it will work out, So I wait and watch without a doubt.

Schneider was a pretty good outfit to run for, I think their training is probably one of the best of all the ones you mentioned. Unfortunately they have shut down all their STA to non-CDL holders and are only taking drivers who have a CDL. They will still send you to training for 7 days at an STA. I would go over to :: Pumpkindriver Homepage :: and check around there. You will get more up to date information on the training and hiring situation. OrangeBoy over there is still in contact with many of the instructors and is "in the know". If the information is accurate the STA's will open again, but who knows. If you get a good DBL with SNI life can be good. They will not bother you as long as you log correctly, run legal, and pick up and deliver on time. I would sometimes go for weeks without hearing anything form my DBL, then it would be, "How's it going? or Anything you guys need?" Other than that she left us alone, and let us do our job. We almost always got home on time and if we took an extra day they never said anything. If you are a complainer, constitantly late, or have a lot of OOR miles they can make your time on the road hard.
Watkins-Shepard is one like was said earlier that you don't hear much negative about. The only thing I did not like about their training is they send you right out in a truck as soon as you are done with CDL training, no trainer time, unless that has changed, and there school is in Montana, which is not bad if you are anywhere close to there.
