I passed by Mavericks corporate offices in Galloway AR (Little Rock), and there are lots of trucks sitting on the lot, with their ID decals removed. Both Freightliner lot's were loaded up with maroon Columbias. The back lot had rows of trailers stacked on each other.

That's not cool to hear Stan. Maybe they were older equipment that is waiting to be sold? I mean we all know that stuff isn't selling right now. My company has 5 trucks that were to be sold but we're sitting on them for now. They pull some freight for the govt. or at least their website says so.

I've seen some of those burgundy Freightliners with someone else's name on the side. I just figured it was a coincidence.

My cousin drove for Maverick and still has friends there. He told me Maverick pulled at least half their fleet off the road. They eliminated the SE division entirely, terminated "problem childs" and drivers who didnt maintain minimum fuel mileage etc. They also eliminated all drivers in the covered wagon division who did not live between Chicago and Pittsburg along 80/76. These might not be the exact facts, we all know how rumors grow, but this is the gist of it.

I would say, smack yourself in the back of the head for concidering becoming a truck driver. Go back to school or search for a better job.

Unless you like sleeping A LOT in a truck in stinky peelot parking lots.

Man was I lied to. :hellno:

Well they do call it OTR and Maverick is an OTR company. I'm local and I don't sleep in my truck a lot. I only sleep in it when I'm waiting at a jobsite and that might be a whole 5-10 minute nap so your sour grapes are useless.
