And not only that, arguing about something like that is alot like arguing politics or religion. You arent going to pursuade the other person into changing their mind, so why bother? neither one of you can win....so why waste the time?

I've heard of it, too, but never seen it. Don't think I'm going to, either. Police enforce laws, not desires.

Anyone that wanted to take my truck keys away the answer would be "Ok, I'll let you know where your stuff is in storage, on your Dime" or "Find another truck" if it was a pickup.

Here is another one. Pactiv in Temple, TX....it is almost as if security likes to screw with drivers. I show up at 03:00 for a load that was to be a D&H at 6a. i'm told the trailer wasnt ready and just half loaded.... and to come back at 8a and whatever is loaded, will be released. Then im told over the QC to come back at 10a, trailer will be ready. so i go back...and THEN told it hasnt even been loaded yet, and to come back at 4p. i call back at 4p....still not ready.....6p...still not ready.

in the mean time, another driver pulled up....called the guard shack on the CB and said he had a load to drop. the guy inside said "we dont have anything scheduled". then a few more words are exchanged, and teh guy inside says, "oh that load isnt scheduled to drop till monday morning". WTF !!! just let the driver drop the trailer in your drop yard and let him be on his way. They finally say to the driver to look for an MT trailer, and if there are any, to drop it.

i mean come on....this load is only 7700lbs that i'm on. My plan was to stay in houston, have braekfast with my brother, and blast off in the AM for this place. i was asked by my DM to take off last night for an early pick up. So much for that...cause now here i sit almost 24 hours later at a truck stop waiting for someone to actually do their job and get my trailer loaded.

The shipper wanted me to wait at the truck stop 1/4 mi away, just so they wouldnt have to pay detention pay. Now the most ill get for wasting a day sitting is $50 for layover......again. If this wasnt a 1600 mi load, i'd tell them to take it off me, and let them jerk another driver around.

I had your loading experience with SRT, Werner and Swift.

I've told some of these sites that unless you have a drivers lounge that is non-smoking I will stay in the truck and will maintain a livable environment. The responses have ranged from we won't load you to -- huh ok. The sites that said they wouldn't load or unload changed their mind when I asked for the phone number for the local OSHA.

Carrying that roll of "grease" for the Security guard's palms is paying off for you then?

You mean there still ARE a few shippers that allow smoking in their trucker's lounges?? Sign ME up! That way I won't have to go sit in my truck with NO T.V. in order to "maintain a livable environment!" :lol2:
