Texas DPS CDL Help Desk was able to find out that the feds still have my pkg. The response is: "Still being processed." At least I know its not lost in the mail or something..........

SlacTrac, I just got my endorsement.

I went in, did the fingerprinting, and was told to call the number off of the www.hazprints.com website in a week, which I did. Here it is: (877) 429-7746

When I called, I was told that it was complete, and that I did NOT need the letter in hand to go to the DMV and get my endorsement. I went in, with no letter, and now have the "H" thingie on my license.

Have you tried calling them?

Yep, Here in Texas, I'm told to call the DPS CDL Division. I did. They only say "Its still being processed."

I haven't gotten my Hazmat yet, but I did visit with my local DMV office today, here in Virginia, about the very subject of getting Hazmat endorsement. Currently, DMV here told me to expect to have my letter back in two weeks from the date I get fingerprinted. My fingerprinting can also be done at the local DMV.

Maybe it's just Oregon, but my CDL doesn't expire until 2012, but I was notified that I must be fingerprinted before my birthday this year. New prints every 4 years. I paid the $89 on-line but now I have to go in for the prints. Only 3 locations in the state where they can be done. A real pain in the rear when you live 150 miles from the closest one and OTR.

If I don't get the prints done, they cancel my entire CDL, not just the endorsement. I can go have the endorsement removed.......ya gotta love it when homeland "security" gets involved. And pay again for the TWIC, but I get a little discount......

Homeland security is a joke.

Thumbs down

I finally received the letter from Homeland Security, dated a full 90 days from the day I was fingerprinted. The letter arrived 95 days from that date. They told me when I submitted my prints "about 2 or 3 weeks." The State Trooper says they should not tell folks that, because the Feds say to allow 90 days. Now I have to go back to the DL office where I did the written test over 100 days ago and get my new license with the endorsement on it. FINALLY! TOTALLY OUTRAGIOUS!
