i will attempt the fasting the night b4 next time...and yea unfortunatly im overweight and out of shape but i cant seem to get it under control, but im more worried about my BP and the chance of diabetes...is there something i can take over the counter to lower my BP and lower my chances of diabetes since it runs in the family?? without failing a DOT physical or having the state rip my CDL from me??...thanks
Watch your sodium intake. Eliminate caffiene. Drink lot of water. Limit but do not eliminate starchy foods (breads, pastas, rice, potatoes, etc) Get lots of exercise. Start immediately. It will take a few days before you really see any results and there is a chance of things getting a little worse the first couple of days before getting a lot better.

When it comes to catching borderline diabetics it often is not what they had for breakfast the day of the physical that gets them, but what they ate the day or two before that raises the flag. While loading up on pancakes and hash browns or eating several donuts the morning of the physical will raise your blood sugar it may or may not have time to spill over into your urine, but if your sugar levels were high for the past day or two it will have had more than enough time to show up.

Lets face it. If a person is at risk for hypertension (high blood pressure) and/or diabetes the time to do something about it is BEFORE you get it, not after you fail a physical. Beyond diet and exercise one very important thing you should do is get a meter to test yourself regularly to monitor your potential condition. You can get a gulcose monitor for free online and a blood pressure monitor for under $50 at most pharmacies, Wal Mart, etc.
well i have to be honest, i'm not addicted to caffine but i am sorta addicted to pasta and hot pockets and stuff like that at home...im not a good cook, nor do i have the money for big meals and fancy recipes....lol
tho i am interested how i can get a free glucose mete online.,...can u tel me how to get one for free

I know you can lower your blood pressure by cutting your fluid intake before the test and taking anything that works as a diuretic. Always been pretty healthy and active but every time I go to the doctor even when I went for my physical in the army my heartrate and bp were higher than normal, so ever since I cut back on fluids before I go to the doctor and bp is lower than normal

I went to orientation earlier this year for a trucking company and in the morning they had the driving test, then paperwork. At 12:00 they bought us lunch from Applebees then at 1:00 they took us for the DOT physical.

Go to a vitamin supplement store such as Vitamin World and get some Hawthorn Berry Extract. Take 1 capsule in the morning and another in the evening. It should lower your blood pressure in a few days. This has worked for several people whom I have spoken. Chromium is supposed to be good for diabetes. Diet and exercise are two things you can do which should help both conditions. Drinking plenty of water can also help flush your system of excess sugar.

do u mean i take the Hawthorn Berry like all the time?....perhaps forever just to keep the BP low?...and what about the Chromium, is that another vitamin i can get from there to lower the chance of diabetes?
my dad already has diabetes, but a mild case but is expected to get worse in the future....
dieting is very difficult with the foods i eat on a normal basis...
