all last week i was running around in the desert. i was idling the truck like crazy. i can usually deal with an inside temperature of 95. when it becomes hotter than that, the truck will be idling. when it's humid, it's gonna idle no matter what unless i can get hooked up to idle air somewhere.

I heard you could idle at truckstops in California it was just everywhere else where it was not allowed. This did not make sense to me since there are no boundaries on air and where it goes.

Time to idle

......................

Was in a Truck stop in Cali a while back.

Most there were idling...

You are allowed 5 mins of idle time then turn it off the idle for 5 more.

Whose to know when u started it up. 8)

.....................

Never in my life seen a DOT roaming a truck stop parking lot,

but then I aint seen everything

the cops down in el centro patrol the truck stop and other places where trucks are parked, looking for those who are idling.

Hmmm, three weeks ago I sat for a day and a half, down in Ontario,CA idling the whole time while waiting for service on my APU. Didn't have a single problem, even with the local police driving around.

they were most likely more concerned with the recreational reptiles, junk salesmen, and potential thieves waiting for somebody to prey on. one of my fellow swifties got stabbed in a botched mugging attempt at the t/a east. this happened back in early march, i think. he beat the shit out of one of the wanna-be thugs while the other ran away like a pansy. they never got his money.

yeah I stay away from Ontario and just hit Fontana when I was with Swift. There are a few truckstops nearby and it's within walking distance.
