i like finding places that charge for parking. bill it back to the company, and they tend to fill up slower.
even if i don't get comped, it's still better than trying to find someplace to park. i love not having the 14 hour computer anymore, so if i get really desparate, i can wait for a spot to open up.

Earlier this year, the owner of WH had passed away; his son
and the board members took over. His son was the one who made the decision to shut down the van division, and make all the changes. pronghornracer

Not to jack-knife the thread;......
I've also noticed more parking availible as well. I've really noticed that there doesn't seem to be as much traffic on the roads either; the other day I went through Chicago, and traffic seemed to be lighter than usual. I think alot of people are cutting back on driving due to the high gas prices. pronghornracer

i pulled into the flying J at lebec, ca on wednesday night about 9:00. had no trouble finding spots in the back. i like the back because its easier to park. im a flatbedder, i suck at alleydocking.
but at 1:00 am or so, i woke up and noticed that the lot had filled up quite a bit around me. but it still wasnt 100% full.

Cisco on I-95 Exit 1 Kingsland GA, only about 30 trucks there last night, but that place has been dead since they are not allowed to sell fuel, apparently the pumps had been rigged to short .1gallon for every gallon pumped, thats what i heard.

Wednesday evening most of the places on I95 south of D.C.
were just a little over half full. Slept at the T/A ...woke up and the place was still had not filled. (The late night chicken haulers that tend to park all over the curbs and streets also seem to have vanished) |
