If you were the owner of that truck would you fire that driver for willfully damaging your vehicle? Not to mention the hours of idling while the report was being filled out. Would that accident go on his DAC?

No way! As a professional driver it's your duty to keep yourself and the motoring public safe. Thats what this driver did by ending this car chase.

Are you kidding, the owner of that company is probably jumping up and down saying that was F**** awesome!!! I'm sure the local news stations had him and the truck on the air for a few days with some great advertising at the cost of a fender repair bill.

While I admire the truck driver(s) doing what he did, I suspect the driver will likely get a "preventable" on his DAC report. The insurance company will see to that.

Is putting a 100 Gallon's of Diesel fuel in the way of a runaway car a safe thing to do? I bet that Company would LOVE to pay for a Hazmat cleanup for a couple minutes of airtime on the local news. You guys are nuts for thinking that was the right thing to do? He might have ended a car chase but how do you know it isn't going to end in a shoot out?

If I owned the truck, he would be fired. No question about it.

that car totally had time to stop.
in fact the hit truck was starting the lane change just as the car was at the end of his trailer. the car totally hit the truck. who's to prove that the truck wasn't just making a lane change?
