Evin, it was in response to ohiomohawk's comment. Had nothing to do with any fuel surcharge, you hitting the good stuff there or something? Not sure how my comment even had any hint of some fuel surcharge.

Add Arrow to the list. They are reducing all trucks to 65  . They say that they can save $1.5m by doing this.

lets say if you log 67mph for 5 days a week $2.80 x 5days a week = $14.00x 52 weeks = $728 a year x 4.5 years= $3276 of loss potential and if this went on for 40 years $29,120 add compound interest and if the company matched the 29,120 in rrsp your talk in will over $100,000.
Sure my calculations are based on a perfect sinarial, but i am sure ya get my drift.

Well...I've kept my mouth shut about the 62 MPH drop by some companies...but I have to agree with evinrude this time...this is starting to get rediculous.

I agree, this is something we've seen coming for awhile with fuel prices being what they are...but IMHO it would probably go a long way to ease disgruntled drivers with a small pay increase...

Nothing terribly horrible with going 60 down the highway, but with that kind of a cap, you would start to see less miles in a day...not by much...but something... :?

Doh! Come to think of it, so would I!

Edited the title of the post to "Schneider goes 60 MPH" instead of "Schneider goes 60 MPG"

Much better to lower the speed limiter on the trucks and blame fuel prices rather than negotiate decent rates.
Make the driver pay for hauling all that cheap ass freight.
