I think it's only a matter of time before we're down to 60 from 65. I doubt if they'll make the bigger jump down to 55, at least not any time soon.

Spoke with a Central Reefer friend and their company trucks are down to 62mph.

after reading all these threads on MPH for MPG, i di a little research.
i was suprised to find out how much fuel you really save by slowing down. its quite a alot
I will be slowing down in my 4 wheeler and comparing the MPG difference myself.

I am reasonably sure the 7.4 ltr in my 3500 crew cab will get better mileage if I keep it under 65mph too.....anything would be an improvement.

Bumper, my personal pickup I ran for about a month at the speed limits instead of 5 over. Along with changing my shifting pattern from downshifting to help with braking to just popping it out of gear and only using my brakes, I picked up 3-4 mpg. Went back to what I normally do and it dropped from 25 mpg to 21-22.

Prolly take the limits down in small steps if need be TF. I'm sure some will test the waters below 60 if it comes to that. I'm thinking 58 might be as low as they go.

Its sucks that companies are going this way. More company may follow suit thats the part I don't like. I am topped out at 68 mph, to go down down to 55mph would be not seem much to some. I figure this loss of pay over 30 years would be like like loosing a pension.

I am all for slowing down on the highway to save fuel,, and heard some many people say it doesn't and up to be much money so don't worry about. OK if it doesn't add to much than pay us for our loss.

Call me a complainer. But if nobody complained and everybody was happy and nobody job hopped, our pay would be ZERO, think about it.

If our company slowed my truck down, without compensation, I would let them know.

What are the Ohio State Troopers (55 MPH here) going to do now with all these trucks going slower??

Speeding tickets resulted in a lot of revenue for the state, perhaps they will focus on 4 wheelesrs.

They'll just lower their truck speed limits in order to keep the cash flow coming in.
