NEMF is a great company if you dont mind a ton of the NE part. It's just that I've been trying to get a gig with Ryder since September 2007, and they finally called me yesterday with an offer for a new account they just picked up. It's taking a empty trailer from New Stanton, PA to Allentown, PA, (525 miles round trip) drop trailer, hook up to another and come home for $1400/week. Possibly may even be a 4 day/3off gig. I can't pass that up. Especially since new stanton is only about 5 mins from me.

As far as NEMF go's, they're a very good company, but this is a great deal for me.

Yeah man, that is a pretty good deal. Good luck! Have you asked them what'll happen if they lose the account? I know around here, alot of places I go have dropped regular carriers in favor of CH Robinson over the past few months (and Ryder may be on the CHR side of it, for all I know).

 

We kind of went over that yesterday a little bit. They said they just siged a 3 year contract with the shipper, so more than likely, they wont want to break the contract due to huge penalties.

But if they would happen to lose it, they will put me on one of their numerous Rite Aid accounts or whatever else that they have at that time.

All in all, if I play my cards right, I should be able to make and save a pretty nice chunk of change over the next 3 years atleast. Not bad for a guy who got his license on his own and never went otr with a coolie carrier. Thanks for the well wishes and such guys. Be safe.

 

good luck jim! i know ryder has soda out of allentown, maybe they picked up nestle waters in fogelsville. if something does happen or you end up not liking it yea right! i know a couple guys who switched from reckitt to mott's, so they will try to accommodate you. :wink:
