I dont park on entry/exit ramps but I often take my 10 hr break at truck stops in Jeffersonville,Oh. At 2:00 in the morning all 3 truck stops (Flying J, TA, and Loves) are sardine cans. On the Walmart acoount you have no control over the time your day ends due to sporadic dispatching.

A few times I have had to drive around all three truck stops for 45 minutes to 1 hour waiting for somebody to pull out so i can back in.

Default On/Off-ramp Parking

"AK is dead set against parking on ramps" Didn't know there are that many interstate on/off ramps in Alaska (AK), unless Arkansas (AR) was meant.
If I have to cool it, I'll choose an on-ramp before an off-ramp. BOL

Most rest areas are fairly secure. Some have police or other security personnel on site.

I dig rest area's. Just make sure you park between the lines. Nothing worse than a row of pull through's that get screwed up because two or so drivers can't get it between them. then everyone parks every which way. And don't plan to park in a rest area after around 9pm in most cases. If you try be ready to do some close corner menuevering sometimes.

I have delivered to most of the Wal-Marts here in Ohio. I would say that 90% do not have a problem with semi's on thier lot. 1/3 to 1/2 of all Walmart parking lots have no cars parked on the outer perimeter. I know when i drive my car to shop at Wal-Marts and the semi's parked way out across the lot are not really bothering anybody and do not get much attention.(DONT DUMP URINE IN PARKING LOTS!!)

There are some Wal-marts that place signs and little islands close together that make it difficult to get a semi through (even the ones that are trying to deliver to the stores).

The only ones you may have problems with are noise ordinance stores where you can get a huge ticket for parking there. There are a few in Michigan that threaten to issue the trucking company a $10,000 fine if they drive on the lot before 6am.
