I was supposed to start school on 2/18/08 at Fox Valley Tech, Appleton Wisconsin. Well I literally JUST found out there was a cancellation for a earlier class. It starts tomorrow. So off I go, 9 weeks of school and I will see where it leads me - Union I hope. Now I just have to figure out what to do in my spare time starting out as a casual driver.

J/K. They seem to have an excellent program there, haven't seen any trainees out there doing anything stupid. A young lady who graduated from there drove one of my trucks part time a few years ago and she was an excellent driver. I also had the opportunity to talk with one of their instructors and he explained their program and it sounded impressive. Their "skid pad" is also a great feature - gives the students a chance to get the feel of controlling a truck in slippery conditions without putting anyone in danger. I think you'll like it there. Best of luck to you.

So far schoool is going great! Yesterday was the pee in the cup and drug tests. Some students didnt make it in today.Friday they were boggling our minds with the basic school stuff- policies and so forth. We really havent touched any trucking issues yet. Well lots of homework for the weekend and partice tests, so Monday I guess we will be starting to spread our wings. The instructors are cool - they preach baby steps. Which is good there is quite a mix of people in our small class. Some who have never seen a truck before. Tuesday they will have us driving around there practice facility.
So far Im very impressed with the staff, the grounds and the amount of assets the school has. We have 45 differant tractors in every make, size and configuration. So we will have a oppertunity to get our hands into alot of varity.
