The things that gave me bad thoughts about this company was lack of a 24 hr dispatch ..lack any 800 numbers for contact...Some rather harsh policies ...for example if for any reason I have tire damage it comes out of my pay doesn't matter what happened ...While I was at the terminal the cops showed up 3x in 2 days for issues regarding the illegal holding of employee wages ...I think me slipping on the ice may have been divine intervention
I think you're right! Better to walk away than have them starve you, then report you after you left! I'm sure you can do better.

Well your employer violated Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules. See section 391.27. In fact the rule requires them to give you a letter or card that says you passed the road test signed by the person that gave you the road test. Along with a copy in your company file. You are to be tested in the same type of equipment you will be driving.

Welll..... not exactly!

I THINK you mean 391.31..... AND you might want to check 391.11(b)(8.).... and the referenced section 391.33(a) and (a)(2).

Steelhauler didn't give enough info to determine whether he had ever pulled/tested a flatbed, nor whether it might have been within the previous 3 years.

Of course, you are probably right, and they may well HAVE violated the rules. But, not EVERY company one goes to work for HAS to give you a roadtest.

(which, of course, you didn't SAY..... but implied.)
