Ekkaddon call your student manager NOW. Who is your manager anyway? Tell them the situation and that you want a new trainer. You will not learn anything in your situation. If you don't get a new trainer - find another company.

I did call my manager but they won't drop me off untill Allentown. I drove all the way to Ohio/Penn state boarder last night so should be there soon. Man I would love a new company but this is the only one would hire me. I applied to 13 companies. Problem is I got a speeding ticket and I'm only 21 yrs old

I know your pain there I started driving in 2005 ,And in OCT 2004 I had 2 back 2 back 10 MPH tickets , So being that I got my CDL in July of 05 those tickets were on my 12 month history , and most companies would only allow 1 in the past 12 months , So I had to twork for the...W... for about 2 years . I would reccomend doing 3-6 months with Werner , And looking to company like crete , Because There isn't any money at the ...W... for a solo driver . I can't stress getting out asap from werner b/c the lack of pay per mile , and lack of good runs will get to you and your work ethic after a year or maybe less , As you will be broke , but expected to run , and act like the ...W...is best thing since sliced bread .

Have you appleid at Arrow? May not be the best, but it is definately a good starter company, and some guys have done well and stayed here for years.

I had the same trainer (maybe literally) with the same co. He had anger/rage problems, we switched shifts on the freeway, i'd drive 11 hours straight, no food breaks, no bathroom/truck stop breaks (had to use the freeway), and he was a complete ***.

here's the deal....i...i put up w/ it for 2 weeks because i thought it would look bad if i asked for a new trainer, and thought it would take a long time to get a new one. we ended up at a terminal, and i told him i'm getting off. i then called my sdm but got stuck with the night crew, which is useless. they said they can not authorize me to get off and that i need to get back on the truck because we had a good run and when my sdm would be back to work on monday (it was friday, of course).

I said , you don't understand...this isn't working out and i'm getting off.

they said fine but it's not authorized and you will be on a leave of abscence.

I didn't care...just wanted off the truck.

On monday, my sdm was in and got me back to a hotel and i had a new trainer within 1 day. My new trainer was....great. Cool guy ( not that this matters), taught me to back and was a good person. I also did get the sign on bonus because it wasn't my fault the trainer didn't work out.

It was not worth putting up with my first trainer for a single day.

Get a new trainer.

as a side note, the biggest lesson i've learned in my short time in trucking is you have to, you have to constantly stand up for yourself and be assertive or you will not survive.

Then, of course, we both need to find a better company.

Well, every month or so I get a postcard from Werner. People don't want to believe me on this board sometimes, but I did have THREE TERRIBLE TRAINERS. The first, a woman, started out as a TRAINER for the money, of course, but didn't tell the company SHE HAD NIGHT BLINDNESS. She also thought bathroom breaks should be behind the cab in the morning.

The second trainer was an EXPERIENCED TRAINER, and he explained to me, seriously folks, THAT HE NEVER DOWNSHIFTS, just puts his foot on the brake when he pulls off the freeway. He was always in trouble with the Logging Department, as he kept forgetting the Qualcom and didn't have a clue how to use it anway. He took a dedicated run and left me high and dry back at the Springfield terminal.

The third trainer was GOD'S GIFT TO WOMEN, and he started groping me on day #1, subjecting me to late night porno radio while I was trying to sleep in the bunk, and talking constantly about his romantic life.

I reported this last man to my SDM and asked to be removed from the truck for sexual harassment, BUT WE HAD A LOAD so Werner refused.
This ROMEO TRAINER then was really mad with me then. I took a wrong turn one night in a construction zone trying to find the next truck stop, and so I had to wake him up to back out of a commercial zoned driveway I'd pulled into so as not to enter a residential area. He started screaming and abusing me so much that when I opened the door to get out to give him signals for backing out, I stopped thinking and fell backwards out of the passenger seat unto the pavement below.

Finally, at the truckstop, I got an armed security guard (outside of Chicago) to start watch while I got my stuff off the truck, some of which this TRAINER threw out of the window at me.

Now I am a 57 year-old married woman, and I didn't make any of this up. I'm still fit and I still believe I can do this job.

However, since taking a "LEAVE OF ABSENCE" from Werner, I've sold a house, moved, travelled some more, and am looking forward to the holiday season with my hubby at home.

I still need a good job.
