For Snowman7,
In re reading your post I see something else there. I need to disclose that I am a survivor of a serious motorcycle accident in the late 70's in California without a helmet. I am doing the best I can. I certainly did not mean to come across as you seem to have read my post. My apologies if I was misunderstood. respects, Dennis in SE PA

Well anyway I drive around 500 miles a night with a set of wiggle wagons in all types of weather and even though I may not sleep in a box or pee in a jar I know I'm a trucker! As are thousands of guys and gals who arent necessarily OTR.   But to answer your question I'd say the commitment level is fairly high amongst guys who make it past a year. There's alot of hard working truckers out here. Actually OTR is the first job and easiest job most guys get and the washout rate is about 100%. People dont understand how hard it is to live in a truck for weeks. Its not like in the movies. thats why OTR jobs are a dime a dozen, they cant keep drivers. Local jobs are harder to get and require more experience. And to those of you who enjoy OTR, more power to ya, I'm not knocking anyone's choice.

kc0iv Here is what was in the drive. I highly doubt he hit it. Oh well, who knows, it's Center City Philadelphia all kinds of things happen down there. Looking at the post it appears who ever bent it was trying to back into the drive and hit the post. Or trying to get closer to building up on the sidewalk. Most downtowns are no fun. Just not enough room. kc0iv |
