It would have been better to have waited until you were 21 to go to school. You may run across companies saying too much time has elapsed from when you finished school. Most companies will allow no more that 3 months, some up to 6-12 months. Hopefully you asked Werner that.
As far as local intrastate, Mass is a small state and I imagine a lot of the loads go into surrounding states. But try dump trucks, garbage companies and maybe Coke or Pepsi. Good luck to you.

well i got my cdl back in dec. 2005, and i didnt turn 21 until april of 06... so i have to waited also..
But i grautated from school in feb 06.... then i found a company that would let me work in the yard horse for 3 months until i was old enough to drive... it was a local LTL company.. It worked out well for me.

I got my cdl at 18, worked for a building materials company early morrning hours. I didn't have a hard time finding a job, just dont expect to be driving a brand new truck. Also look for small outfits, no big company will hire you until you are at least 21.
