It all depends on maintenance. Look at some of those big fleet trucks like Schneider and Swift. Most of those are only 2-3 years old but they look like they've been to hell and back and all points in between. They are held together with duct tape and a prayer. Then you have owner operators with 20-30 year old trucks that run and look like they just came off the factory floor.

Ok, so I was assigned a 1997 KENWORTH T800, with NO radio, NO A/C, and not very pretty to the eyes..... but it does seem to run well.

that sucks. if i'm going to drive OTR or even local, id want to be comfortable.
i couldnt work for a company that was too cheap to fix the A/C in my truck :?

Well the new boss asked if the truck was acceptable, but being it was all they had, haha, it wasn't like I had a choice..... so I did mention the A/C. He said he had a new condensor put in it not too long ago, but said he would get it looked at to see if we could get me some nice cold air! So atleast he's tryin to make it right???
