Yes it did, Useless. Reminds me of a song by Garth Brooks...Unanswered prayer!

BTW-I lived down in the RGV for 6 years and just wanted to move north @ the time.

Yeah, I called S. Abraham & Sons (Convenience store deliveries) and K.-LTD (tanker job) back. I've got a scheduled interview at both Monday! I pray to God that one of these pay off.....

Useless:

Unkut,

It's time for an attitude adjustment here, in the form of a swift kick in the keester!!

Did you just read what Smowman just got through telling you??

No one here can turn this situation around for you; only you can do tthat for yourself.

So get up from the three hour pity sessions in front of the television set, get up off of your ass, and turn that "crying face" into something more positive. This situation can only defeat you if you allow it to.

Look at your assets; You were offered what you, and apparantly other drivers as well, consider to be a "Dream Job". YOU were offered the job. If this job was the true "Dream Job" that you envisioned it as being, then would that not mean that other drivers likely applied for that same job, but were not selected??

If, in fact, it WAS NOT the "Dream Job" that you envision, then are you not better off finding that out NOW??

So, if you were offered the job, where other drivers were turned dowm, then does that not say something POSITIVE ABOUT YOU??

SO!!!......If one supposedly fine employer saw the value in offering their coveted "Dream Job" to you, then would it not stand to reason that the other employers that you will be meeting with Monday might see them as well??

THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU ANSWER THAT QUESTION!!

The logic might not be nearly as simple as it appears to be.....

If you take your "Woe Is Me" attitude into an interview, then the answer will quite likely be an overwhelming "NO"!!

On the other hand, if you get rid of youor "crying face", and turn it into a face that you want to carry into an interview, then the answer may well prove to be a resounding "YEEESSSSS"!!!

Look at it this way.

(...and, for what it's worth, I am speaking from the perspective of an employer here!!)

You can walk into an interview with your hat in your hand, borne of a need for a paycheck; that attitude does not leave much room for you, or the people interviewing you to focus upon what it is that you have to offer as a driver.

Now, here is a little "Other side of the desk" seceret:

You are NOT being scheduled for a job interview because you need a job; you are scheduled for an interview because a company has a problem that needs a solution.

The job will be ofered to the person who can show a manager that he/she is the SOLUTION To A Company's PROBLEM!!

Now, if you were able to sell a supposedly fine company on the idea that you were a solution to their problem, do you think that you could replicate that in another interview?

Now, people who are a solution to a problem don't carry around "Crybaby Faces", nor do they prepare themselves to be solutions by indulging in pity parties.

If that next interview is what stands between you, your family, and a cart full of groceries, then what steps are you willing to take to get that cart full of groceries into you pantry and fridge??

Then, take that "Positive Hungry" (but not desperate!!) motivation with you into your job interview, then through orientation, then on your first day on the job, then your first week, month, and year on the job, burn it into your brain, mind, body, heart, soul, and Spirit, and I GUARANTEE that you'll come out head and shoulder above the rest of what I call society's "bottom scratchers"

I call them "botom scratchers" for two reasons;

1.) Bottom Scratchers go through life feeling hurt, angry, and/or controlled by adversities that have happened to them. They scratch the bottom of what life has to offer, because they have surrendered to defeat, and have become conditioned to believe that good things just happen to the "luckey" people. Scratching the bottom of the barrel of life has now become their "comfort zone".

Reality Check: A "Comfort Zone" ain't always comfortable!!

2.) For all the good that their perceptions and defeatist attitudes do for them, they might as well sit in front of the TV for their three hour sessions, tune into other people's misery and dysfunctionalism, and SCRATCH THEIR BOTTOM!!

Unkut?? Where will you fit in here??

Now, get up off your whiney ass, and get out there, and go make life happen!! SYMPATHY is not what you need here; A swift, tough love, kick in the ass is!!

Peace,
Useless

If you two had completely read the original thread, or even every post on this thread you would know the name of the company.
