Cluggy, have a question or if someone else knows

Is there a way to tell the tank size, 90% ullage and how much will fit in the tank without a Veeder Root or a tank chart?
Example: Sticking the tank, drop 1000 gallons and then sticking the tank again and using some type of formula?

Ben...You sure did ask a tough question. Usually, the station will have tags in the fill box.
Your dispatch should also have tank sizes listed on the order. I would go into how you can determine tank-size, by observing ground placement..put I am tired and headed to bed.

The main thing is not to overfill the tank. When you do, presure will build up, and force the fuel back out of the drain once you disconnect. Also, fuel will get into the vent for the tank, and plug it up, causing problems for the tank to vent properly. I hope this helps. Of course, be sure to ask inside what the size is, but chances are, they don't know. Good luck.

I had to do something, I knew it was coming so had a tanker yanker job lined up so went right to work for them. Still learning the ropes of the dropping fuel, (lots to learn doing this). I figure there can't be much of a slowdown so thats why I wanted to haul fuel and the terminal is only 3 miles from home. Got hired at Conway, got layed off  . Got hired at Roadway, got layed off  . Hope my luck gets better with tankers.

I just re-read the info I gave you....I don't think it will help you too much if you must stop at 90%. The reason you can't use a formula is because of so many different styles and sizes of the tank. You really need a tank chart, however, you might go in and see if the company can print out a tank reading. Most of the fuel tank now installed also have a electronic measuring meter within the store. This is so the manager can measure their stock, and know when to order. It comes out on a receipt, and will tell you about how much the tank has in it, along with how much the tank will hold. You were probably told this already, but it couldn't hurt to mention it. Good luck.
