That is very disturbing. I don't know what to say.

He was overdue on his logbook, which was inaccurately filled out. He said his brakes were faulty but they turned out to be fine, AND he's had previous driving offenses. I fill for the guy for being in this situation, but at the same time, I think it's guys like this that sometimes cause others to look down on truckdrivers.

I don't feel for him at all. Driving 7 1/2 hours over, lying about brakes, lying about his status as a citizen, uh uh hopefully he'll serve more time on the 24 year end of the sentence. This guy should be a poster boy for why we need to stop talking about illegal immigration and get busy and thin the herd.

Look at it this way, Mattangcobra. Allowing Mexican trucks into the country is good for the environment. You can get a lot more Mexicans in the back of a 53' van than a 12' truck.

I dont feel for him at all. He was an accident waiting to happen. False logbooks, bad equipement, fatigue, etc etc. All things that WE know now, are major contributors in an accident.

I feel sorry for the infant that lost a dad, and a family that lost 7 yr old child.

Screw him and his "remorse"

I wish people would hold themselves responsible for their own actions! The families are the ones I feel bad for.
If he was here illegally....then how did he get a CDL?

as a truck driver it makes me angry. he killed 4 people only got a minimum 4 year sentence. has a past of driving reckless. log book violations being illegal. how come he was not deported when he was stopped for speeding violations? don't they check on the status of a person when they pull him over.

how can a person be so irresponsible?
