Default Methods of paying for CDL school

What are some ways that some of you guys paid for your driver training besides company sponsored training? What type of government programs are out there that can be taken advantage of? Thanks.

Of course you have personal loans, sometimes you can get a student loan (if you attend through a community college, then there is the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) which is usually administered through the employment office of your state.

Some native american tribes have grants available for job training if you happen to belong to one.

The two best sources to find options to attend CDL school are your state employment office and the trucking school itself.

Usually you have to be unemployed, about to be layed, etc. I think you have to have certain income requirements. I have heard it is also takes some time to get approved. So start now.

I got it noooooo problemo
I called, got an appointment, took their "dummy" tests, did everything else they wanted me too, and I got the $$$.
I was making $30k/year at the time.
The money is for training for any jobs that will see a projected job growth of more then 30% or so. Plumbers, electricians, nursing, truck driving, railroad conductor, and maybe a few others as well.
There were nurses there getting the money to pursue their LPN degree.

Even a white cracker like me got money from the gov'ment
You wouldn't normally hear about the $$$ because it's mostly advertised in the poorer sections of town. Which is where our local office just happened to be

Call your employment office or maybe a google search might do it for you.
