Default Making a Resume

Wondering if anyone knows where I can make a resume and print it out. I did a google search. All I found was fake shit that you had to pay for. I'm not into paying. I also tried Monster.com What a nightmare site...

I bought this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Resume-Magic-S.../dp/1563705222

And while it was very corporate-business concentric, I found a way to make it work for me.

Tell me about it. I spent six weeks, 12 hours a day, looking for work. Monster.com, careerbuilder.com, etc. etc. etc. (And I still wound up back in a truck for all that wasted effort.)

If you hunt around on Monster for tips, you can find templates for resumes that are specifically tailored to the kind of goal you have in mind. Or if you're just looking for a job as a truck driver, there's no reason to get fancy. Nobody in this business can read or write anyway.

"Turn left at Hardies on Chinkapen Bullivard, then turn rite past Home Deepo, on Shomp Sillizay."

("Turn left at Hardee's on Chinquapin Boulevard, then turn right past Home Depot, on Champs-Élysées")

If you look around here on CAD, there's some forum where drivers post resumes. Look at their examples. It ain't rocket science. You're a truck driver. Nobody expects you to be able to articulate your thoughts in writing, or use a computer anyway.

Unless you're trying to get a real job. Then disregard this, and start plodding through all that other crapola.

I believe yahoo has a template you can use for a resume. There are also inexpensive resume software you can purchase.

I realize you don't want to pay but the best 30 bucks I ever spent was having Kinko's do my resume years ago. I wrote everthing out on notebook paper gave it to them and a day or 2 later they had it ready and they let me have my pick of fancy paper with matching envelopes. I was impressed and it impressed the employer also. I only sent out 3 of them and landed a good job plus they gave me the disc so I could run off more copies at home, if I needed to, but I didn't need to.

You don't need a special program to write a Driver's Resume; the conventional resume programs will do you no good.

Information for Driver's Resume:

Make sure you include your name, your handle, and the address of the prison or jail where you were last incarcerated.

List all dates of incarceration, including dates of parole revocation.

List all offenses for which you were convicted, including probation and parole violations.

List the names of your probation officers and/ or parole officers.

List the names of the judge that sentenced you.

List all excuses.....errr... make that reasons as to why you were wrongfully convicted.

List all machines that you can operate safely: forklift, pallet jack, pinball, video, etc.

List your last job, and the reason that a$$h*le boss fired you.

Follow-up Phone Call with Recruiter:

When speaking to a recruiter, make sure you ask the right questions:

"You guys don't check DAC Reports, do you"??

"I won't have to take a drug test, will I"??

"I was so drunk when I got married that I don't remember my last wife's name. I remember the other six ex-wives, but I think I'm supposed to be sending child support somewhere, but I can't remember where I'm supposed to send it; Could you guys help me with this"??

"Do you reimburse your drivers for the cost of lot lizzards"??

"You guys will give me a few days fair warning before I have to take a drug test, won't you"??

Best of luck to you!!
