Shoot, that's nothing. A friend of mine got a pre-plan to pull a load from a factory to a warehouse and back. The total trip would have been about 60 miles, from the far suburban outskirts of town on one end to the far suburban outskirts of town on the other, and the load paid 1 mile. 1.

The head of Operations was baffled that he turned down this choice morsel rather rudely.

Let me guess, HHG miles? aww heck, even hub or practical would've still sucked.

Lynden is a little better, but it can be bad as well. I go to Vancouver twice a week. From Portland to Vancouver and back. The only good time is in the evening or the week-end for a truck. fortunately, I get paid by the load, so waiting isn't an issue, but road rage from portland to BC can be.....

I'm in the minority here I'm sure...

But I enjoy going to Canada with my present company. My "normal" round trip in and out of there usually gives me an extra $90 minimum, and that's before any possible delays at shippers, receivers, or the border.

I dont go to Canada only because (and I use it) its against FEDERAL law to force someone to leave one country for another.

The only times I went into Canada, was to deliver gas to a Chevron station in Point Roberts WA. You get to Point Roberts by going into Vancouver, then dropping south into "The Point".

Inmate,

Where is the Federal statue about not forcing you to leave one country for another? And how does this stand when Schneider state in its hiring that it runs the 48 states and Canada?

Of course this Federal law is going to be very interesting if/when Mexico is opening for US trucks. I can't see many trucks going that way or drivers wanting to to go!
