depends alot on the consignee, most have a 4 hour window for delivery and some are first come first serve, i have had a delivery time at 14:00 and get there at noon and unload, same as shipper show up a day early or a day late, time does not mean much, my pretrips say pickup yesterday and delivery tommorow and i still make it ontime most of the time, just got to plan your trips and call them to confirm your time if you want or tell them your eta ..... i never leave it up to the dispatcher to fix anything, they tend to make it worse anyway

The dispatch I got last Sunday 06/10/07 at 10:20 AM is the winner so far.
"Pickup 06/08/07 (forget what time) deliver 06/10/07 at 11 AM, 450 miles away." As I wasn't done with a previous delivery, and it was about 120 miles to the pickup, I said I could deliver at 17:00 on Monday. The dispatcher QC'd me 3 times saying she was sure I could make it by 11. I finally figured out she hadn't read it very carefully and told her what it said. That got me a long silence out of the QC. |
