Default maverick questions????????? Also license question

I already got prehired at USA truck but want to work for maverick. I have had a speeding ticket, stop sign violation and a no operators license charge. License have never been suspended. You think maverick will have a problem with this or not? Kind of worried a little. The recruiter has not helped much he said he needs three days to get to my app? isnt this a little too much? usa truck only took a day. Oh this is for training since i have no cdl.

Well, I'll answer this as basic as possible because the screen name is suspect.
But its up to each company's policy. USA Truck might be fine with it, Maverick might need to investigate your background. It also depends when these violations occured.
Wait and see.

I have spoken to some drivers who had pre-hires from USA and went to orientation only to get there and get turned down because they did not meet USA's hiring requirements. What this translates to is the USA waited until the applicant got to orientation before actually doing the background checks.

Every company I have ever worked for that actually did the checks and got an approval from the safety department before offering a pre-hire always took at least 2 days.

Give him the 3 days he has asked for and if you have not heard anything by noon on the 4th give him a call.

Maverick will not consider you if you have anything within 12 months on your MVR. Also, the waiting list for their CDL schooling is almost 6 months long. After that, the waiting list for a trainer is 1-3 months. Then, consider which state you live in, if it's outside of their better "lanes" the wait could be even longer. :?

No the waiting list is only if u live in certain states. They said if you liv in texas or oklahoma, good luck. They said my driving record was not a problem, so you were wrong again. So i have a decision whether i want to go with maverick, england, usa truck or schneider. 90% sure i am going to go with maverick, and i will only have to wait three weeks to go, not 6 months.

The waiting list is definitely determined by state. They do have some states where the waiting list is short and some (TX,OK)where you would be better off to go get 6 months exp with another company and then come to Maverick (straight from the recruiter!).

They told me that the states with the shortest wait time currently were IN, TN, IL and I think KY. This does make sense since these states are dead center of our freight lanes.

I'm kinda doubtful about them accepting you with that record. They are fairly picky. You'll need to keep your record clean for at least a year, I think.

Hope this helps!

Arky

What are the freight lanes ARKY? I have seen Maverick rigs in LA, MS, AL, and TN, and I'm sure that two of these states aren't among the major travel lanes. Another question to ponder, with Mobile,AL building a $4 Billion dollar steel mill, will Maverick get a piece of that action?

I drive for maverick. Maverick will haul out of that steel mill as long as it's not cheap freight. I did not go on a waiting list at all. I called maverick on a monday and was in LIttle Rock on Saturday. I also was the first guy in orientation to get a trainer and was only with him a week. I do have 6 yrs driving experience though, just did not have any in flatbed. I also am in IL so I think they needed drivers from here badly.
