Kreilkamp trucking, In Allenton WI. They also have a hub in edison NJ. Its 95% east coast. they have 300 plus tractors, and 1000 plus wagons mostly reefer. They have A new fleet of Pete 387 with automatic and xm radio, and pro heat systems that heat and cool with the truck off. Very, very family oriented, and they do treat their drivers very well!!! I drove for them a few years back (local / regional) and I was very very happy!

They look for drivers from WI to the east coast along the I-80 corridor.

Mackman, i gotta agree, wasn't this the same guy who just posted a few days ago saying he was only 23, and had only driven for a while? 46.5 cents per mile, either wisconsin is the golden land, or i'm calling rotten cheese on this one

Whatever... I am 28 not 23. I came here asking questions to better help myself for otr which I have not done before. If you want to criticize me, I don't need it.

Call them yourself and ask them what they pay for otr. Ask for Al, he will tell you everything I told you and then some!

Hey hey, no need to be hasty, just looking at the facts of OTR trucking, 46.5 cents is great if it's for real and no strings attached, it just seems your experience level does not constitute that kind of pay, and that is not an insult by any means, it just seems to me that's on the upper end of the pay scale, but again great for you if it's all there and in clear english, at that rate you won't hardly have to drive 2000 miles per week to make a good check, maybe that's where they're lacking, hope you do more driving than sitting.

This is a "ma and pa" company.... Like I said I drove for them before, and that left my foot in the door. Granted I had a little break from driving, they still know who I am and remembered me when I called them a few weeks back looking to get behind the wheel again.

Sorry if I came about a bit strong...

I appoligize if I give the impression that I am bragging. That was not my intention of this thread!!!![/quote]

Hey no need to apologize! There’s nothing wrong with bragging if you’ve really got the right to, and at 46.5 cpm and new Pete 387s with XM and pro heat, well you’ve got that right! (Picture me with a smile on my face when I say) “you suck!” of course at 95% East coast I’ll not be applying anytime soon (I knew there was a catch), let us know how it goes.

Oh ya, imagine that this forum is like walking into a huge drivers lounge with all types of personalities, most of whom are good people who are happy for you/envious of such a good paying gig, if any give you a hard time, remember they most likely have a smirk on their faces when they do.

I wouldn't count on this 2 cents.
I hear they allow you one mistake in a quarter. What is that 3 months?
Maybe two mistakes...and then you don't qualify for the added bonus. Seems this works real well in the Companies favor...anyway you look at it. You get some guy's breaking their neck in some odd fluke they might beat the Computer. Good recruiting ploy as well.
Scuttlebutt is they love to argue over logbooks with you.

There is no way I could be that precise. I make little mistakes a lot.

I think if a DOT Cop has it in for you...he may always be able to find a logbook violation...in just the 8-days logs you are required to hold. :?

Anyway...I've talked with several Kreilkamp Drivers in the last several days.
One I met up in Boston. He said he's been with the Company like 13 years...and really loves it. He was like the 3rd Driver they hired.
But being with a Company that long...you must be good, and as well have the Boss giving you enough to keep you.

Couple other Driver's I talked with down in Philly at the Tioga Fruit Terminal...both said...eeehhh...they're okay...himhaw.

One Driver said...he hired on as mid-west regional. :P So I had to ask...what are you doing in Philly then?

He complained the most about the Company. He says they have governed trucks....and they never give him "great" mileage. They run him around a lot locally...(which is fine if you are paid by the hour)...and so he works hard but never much miles. Then they dangle a Philly load over his head. 900 miles....so whats he going to do? can't turn that down...and so much for being home weekly...as promised.
Lots of times he'll sit a day or so waiting for a reload, too.

Anyway...just some perspective about how "great" Kreilkamp might look on paper, or what is promised up front....reality is....this grass is not so green....

...but they do seem to be a good Company...as they may only suck just a little less than most.

.....as Rev would say....."just sayin'."
