In his defense I've seen both. These are the days of mergers and aquisitions. Some nites I look like the circus coming to town. UPS Freight tractor, one Overnite pup, one Motor Cargo pup. LOL.

Were you on I-85 in charlotte last night??? I pasted a double set just like that lol.

Most LTL companies don't have recruiters, they don't need one. Saia has a very good rep. As a city driver you would work days and be paid hourly, probably around 17 to start. As a road driver you would work nites (possible layovers in a motel) and get mileage, maybe mid .40's to start? Top should be around .50/mi and $20-21. Med should be low or maybe free, 8-9 holidays, 2-3 sick days, vac days,no pension but they should have a good 401k. They are publicly traded I believe. I don't work there but these are common wages for LTL and we have our own little grapevine amongst each other. If you want to stay local its a very good job. Fill out the app and hope for a call.

I call you on this, bullsh!t, they drive at night as I see them always in my way and pulling their doubles, nothing but bad drivers, piss on them...
In my area the worst is Federal Express and Overnite, reckless is putting it mildly.
If you are going down I-65 in the hoosier UPS is always balls to the walls, wtf do these guys get paid by the mile or something ? why are you in such a hurry ? really.

I talked with them in Houston and was thinking about doing linehaul for them but it was 6 nights a week. The local guys in Houston are contract thru a company called Palletized Trucking. All the local guys own their own truck and are basically paid commission on pick-ups and deliveries that they do. I know several of the local guys in Houston and do pretty well on income, but don't have the bennies like company a guy does for some of the other LTL companies.

In their other operating areas I think that most of the city P&D guys are company.
