There are alot of jobs open in the D/FW area. Not really sure where to start.

I drive a tanker for Martin Eagle oil/Southwest Petroleum Transport up here in Denton. If you have a year in a t/t, you can find other fuel transport companies who will train you. The list is long. The majors is Racetrac, QuickTrip, Gemini ( for Loves), Flying J. Also look at Coastal. And their are more, but for some reason, my mind is drawing a blank. We are starting the busy season soon, so I expect just about everybody is hiring. It takes 30 days to get all of the terminal cards you will need.

I hope this helps you out.

I'm currently compiling a list of fuel companies in the DFW area, or those more reginal.

It's taking some time, so far, I have over 20 companies. I would list them here today, however, that list is in my truck.

I'll post them tomorrow.

I'd haul trash, but there's a line a mile long to get a job there.

Another native Dallasite here. Hello fruitloop. Im an O/O and I would team with you but my wife might have a different idea after she sees your pic. ops:  So far I haven't found any decent paying local jobs in the Dallas area and the rates in Tx are mostly bottom of the barrel. However, you might want to look into a company called DYNAMEX.I think they are out of Irving. They do mostly runs between Dallas and Houston.I have a cousin that is contracted with them and he might be needing one driver. I can Pm you my number and ask him if you like.

I recall seeing a drivers wanted signs at a trucking company near Joshua or Burleson. If you have at least 1 year of experience and want to drive for an owner operator, you might consider looking at going with an owner operator who leases to Landstar. There are several agents around Dallas. One of their larger agents are just off of I-20 near I-45. You can see his yard from the interstate. There is a Budweiser facility next door to him. I don't know if they use local people, but there is a steel plant in Midlothian on 67. They may need someone. If you haven't already checked, the state employment office may point you to someone who could help. Werner has a facility next to Pilot off of I-20. There are several other carriers who have yards in and around Dallas. You might check with some of the truck stops around the area. Carl's is just south of Dallas. They probably get more independents in there than the big carriers. Some truck stops have a place for companies to post their job openings. You could probably post that you are looking for a job. Carl's is where Bio-Willie started, as I recall. There are several truck stops around the Metroplex. Some of the truck dealers might be aware of smaller carriers who may be in need of qualified drivers. The problem you may run into with the smaller carriers or independents is getting their insurance company to cover you. Most require 2 years of driving experience. There are a lot of smaller carriers around the Metroplex. Good luck.

DD60, that's kinda odd about the local jobs in the metromess. Everytime I look in the DFW papers, there are bookoos of local jobs, and the pay is good.
