I am driving along on I40 and there is a flatbed driver in the right hand lane going 60. The speed limit is 65 on thhat stretch.
I am gaining on him so I signal and move to the left lane so I can pass him. When I get along side him he speeds up so I can't move back to the right lane. I have a governor on my truck so I put it to the floor to gain a few more mph. He speeds up and won't let me back into the right lane. There is a way statioon coming up so i have to get back in to the right lane. I get as much distance as I can and move slowly back in to the right lane. Once he sees the weigh station is closed he moves in to the left lane, pulls along side me and proceeds to try to run me off the road. I hit the brakes and have to move into the breakdown lane. I back off letting him get ahead of me. He slows down in front of me trying to provoke me. I slow down more to let the jerk move away. What's up with this kind of bahavior? That's why truckers get such a bad name, and end up getting killed or killing someone else. This guy obviously needs some anger management.

Did you happen to get name of company tractor and trailer number and give them a call? Depending on how bad some situations get to call the law in......if they are doing this to another truck driver how are they treating the rest of the people they meet along the road?
Assuming that he intentionally was doing this and not going downgrade, that no one was provoking the other driver (still uncalled for) etc....That stuff makes me mad here too, it's not just a matter of who is in the lead going down the roads, wrecks happen so quickly it only takes a second. Ya all be careful out there, there is no load, no time frame more important than your life or anyone else's life on the roads.......stay safe out there everyone

That "driver" was simply an immature jerk who has no business driving a tri-cycle let alone an 80,000 lb truck.
Any time that kind of crap happens try to get a company name and a truck or trailer number and call 911 and report it. If you do not have a cell phone get one for emergencies.

That nothing new. Sadly some will do that as a game. They know certain's companmies goverened and will play with them like that. Not much you can do beside call in on them. My Worst case was with a 4Wheeler though.

I'm not trying to be a wiseass, nor condoning what the other driver did, but I'm gonna ask this anyway. If the weigh station was just up ahead on the right, and you were already in the correct lane to exit, why the heck did you even try to pass him? I don't understand going from the right lane...to the left lane...back to the right lane...so you could exit at the station. Wouldn't it make more sense to just stay put in the right hand lane and exit when you got there? 65 mph...60 mph..either way you're talking mere seconds in time difference.

I have 4 wheelers do that all the time with me. Keep a thick skin and let it roll off your back like butter. No need to get angry back, just get even by calling the cops. Some companies could careless if you call in on their drivers, calling the cops will get that companies attention when they hear their driver is in jail for aggressive driving.
