Cop must of had issues or something, they had a bus do that in the Chicago suburbs a couple of years ago and got wiped out by a 70 mph Metra train.
Bunch of kids got killed, all because the bus driver didn't get the hell off the tracks. Id fight that on safety grounds, get hit by a train or go threw a stop & go, easy decision.

My thought here is..and it may be crazy...But...Why did it take you so long to get started, that the light changed on you?
Even in a tanker with surge going on, I can cross a set of 2 tracks and clear an intersection, before the light changes. :?:

Aaaaaaaah. Red Light violation shouldn't be that big a deal...unless you have more on the record.
Reckless Driving, Speed to fast for Conditions, and 15 mph over are the biggest disqualifiers on traffic tickets. School Zone tickets are big as well.
