Default Anybody have one of these CB's?

I'm going to need my own CB in about a month after I finish training. I've heard good things about Uniden and this one seems like a pretty decent deal, but I was wondering if anybody here has one and how they like it?

Thanks!

Sorry, I just ordered a Galaxy DX959. I'm hoping this will be a good choice.

can't say much about the radio, but if the weather alert is anything like the Cobra's - whoa boy! that thing will scare the living poop outta me, anytime there's ANY type of warning in the area. even with the radio off, it WILL wake the dead with that high pitched squeal! i know that can be helpful, but most of the time it's for stuff that isn't likely to harm you.

my $.02

Uniden makes a good radio. I bought one a few months ago. I think I paid about $100 on sale at Pilot. You can often get a CB at some of the truck stops that is as cheap as anywhere else. This is the first Uniden I have owned. I previously owned Cobra. Both make a good radio.

I have that radio, without the weather band. Best radio I ever owned.

Its a decent radio. I have a cheaper Cobra one thats all black and has the speaker on the front, and I paid only 80 bucks for it.

I want a President radio cranking out 75KW, but my Dad's buddy is gonna take that to his grave

ive had lots of uniden 510s.nice to have two knobs to hassle with when your driving.my main cb is a cobra 29.i have one with the weather band but its been on the shelf a long time.i dont need 6 or 8 knobs to wonder about while driving.that 29 got a rf gain and mike gain.4 knobs easy to check if things are quiet.i get weather on the am usually every 10 minutes and have weather band on my scanner.

I have that same Uniden radio and I love it. I brought it in to a shop and had it "peaked and tweaked", and the thing works great. I recommend it.
