Galaxy Pluto, wowowowow I haave not seen one in years, whew i feel old now..... wow nice to here , yup the 88 can be pumped up , so can the 99v ehehehehe which is my fav for the 10 watt stock class...... wow I am trtying to remeber some of them old classics I had uhhhhh a this is tte brand now, (ham international mutlimode III) made in belguim, yup that was my fav for years....... next to tthis robyn ssb I had which waws my first ssb, then came te 148glt, which is tthe most modifiable radio of all time and sttill is the easiest to get extra freqs and 3 times the powerand open the clarifer and on and on get talkback.....
talkback in most 4 pin microphone radios is cheap about 20 cents for a resistor in te back of the microphone or inside tthe box itself, when you key te mic it turns on the transmit and shuts off the recieve, it needs to use tthe same circuit kinda (audio circuit), so if you solder a 100 watt resistor across the recieve line and the ground pin you have talkback and how muc did you all pay for the cheapst mod around???? you can use 20 watts to 500 watt resistors just how much volume you want, 500 watt quit and 100 sounded about right, when recieving the recv-pin is grounded and you here audio, when transmitt it shuts that part off so you don,tt feedback out the speaker from the mic, add a resitor and its kinda grounded and you here softly outt thhe speaker your voice going through the audio circuit , so there you go first lesson.... I soldered a small volume control or aka a variable resisttor in te mic and would just turn it till it sounded good and thhen put the back on the mic , I also ran tthe knob thhrough the back of the mic, with a cobra most poeple use the RF gain knob on the radio, simple all you do is unsolder the 2 wires from the board(leaeve on knob) and run a jumper where the wires were on board, now your rf gain is all tthe way up(just like he knob zero resitance), now solder the 2 wires one to recv pin on mic jack inside radio and one to ground and you have a knob on tthe radio tto control your ttalkback and they charge hhow much for this, man I need to fix everyone up righht and get my keys to quitt sticking on this pc...
