Default whistleblower as it applies to truck drivers

Is anybody out there who understands how the whistleblower act works for / with truck drivers?

Its been around for awhile. When the company MAKES you do illegal crap. like fix your lie book and stuff, you turn them in and you get to skip any legal action on you. You do have to be working for the company when you turn them in! They will also want you to rat on other people in the company, like drivers. I called them once, I was being pushed a little to hard and wanted a break, they said no, so I quit. Called about the whistle blower deal and they wanted names, of drivers and to show them what I actually did on my logs and not just what i turned in... I didn't want to bring in the drivers, just wanted back at the company, so just dropped it.

They want to make sure that it isn't just sour grapes and that you have a serious issue. They also want to see if it is a pattern of behavior they need to check.

But they still want you to implicate other drivers so they can get their almighty DOLLAR! I wouldn't have a problem showing what I did, but its not my place to mess with another mans job, let them find it on their OWN! If they know there is a problem let them investigate and watch the company. A lot of these drivers here are new to the industry and think the DOT will get you for everything you do wrong, well this just isn't the case. It would be hard to actually prove you did the run different than the logs you turned in with a very creative logger... And if you have been out here long enough, which I know you have, you can attest to this!
